11. 1950s/60s "glittering" prosperity = ominous cuz it was dependant on war ~> "permanent war economy. it did help the industries involved w/aerospace, plastics, electronics, and development (science) (861)
12. Eco boom = also fed by cheap energy -> Am + B controlled ME oil and thus kept the prices low (861)
13. 1970: Am workers able to produce double than they had in 1950 due to better edu and better equipment ~> also doubled standard of living (862) 14. prominent shift of labor away from agri = farms able to do more with less thanks to fertilizers and huge machinery. 2% of Am ppl = farmers (862)
